I have to say the view is rather dull
from this side of my makeshift curtains.
Your houses are bare
of troves that ground the sky.
There is something sexy about the rug of dirty clothes,
about the bathtub carpeted with the fur of a dog
who lies under a raised patch of grass,
about the pipes crying over the living room,
their tears drying by the hearth.
Now I know why
the dull knife is more dangerous than the sharp.
He is eager to bite,
and I am desperate to feed.
